See you there ?

Weybourne Station, Saturday/Sunday May 25/26
The famous “Royal Train” episode of the evergreen Dads’ Army was filmed at Weybourne station on what was then the fledgling North Norfolk Railway in 1973. Forty years on, with the Poppy Line now one of Britain’s top steam railways and the station beautifully restored, the episode will be commemorated in “Dads’ Army Live!”.
...
The event will run on the Saturday and Sunday of the late May Bank Holiday. The station will be under the control of the Walmington-on-Sea platoon, with volunteers playing the parts of Captain Mainwaring and his colleagues. Corporal Jones’s butcher’s van will be on hand to add to the authentic atmosphere. And on the Sunday afternoon, our intrepid volunteers will re-enact the soaking the platoon got at the end of the episode, when the royal train sped through the water troughs and left them all drenched.
