The van at the Dolphin

DSC02287DSC02289DSC02291DSC02292DSC02304DSC02306

The van was off on it’s travels again. This time just down the road to The Dolphin Inn. They are having a beer and music festival this weekend (August 24th & 25th 3pm till late). They have a large array of beers to try and some great beer glasses as well. Our Captain Mainwaring (Mick Whitman) managed a glass of ginger beer !

Jones’s Van Day Update

We have such good news – Lodge Coaches are bringing up their wonderful 1940’s coach AND 1940’s lorry to be with us on the day to help our efforts – can’t wait to see them!! Our friend `Greengrass` has been out actively recruiting some 40’s re-enactors and dancers for us and we should have a fair few authentic peeps to really put the finishing touches to the event. Shefs have come up with a fab menu: sliced honey roast ham, pork pie, cheddar cheese wedge, crusty bread, pickle, salad leaves, cherry toms, potato salad, pickled onions – all for £6.50 special diets catered for (pre-ordering on 07739404179 or 01842 819803). They will also have soft drinks, tea/coffee and their ice cream cart with them.

Jones’s van on the road.

The van is to make a short journey from it’s home at the Burrell Museum to the Dolphin Pub Thetford. The Dolphin is holding a beer festival this Saturday and Sunday and selling Jones’s van beer glasses to raise funds for the Van Appeal. Pop along and see the van from 3pm on both days (the van may not be there all the time).
